January 23, we started working in preparing the ground to start
the Mahavidya Girls School.
We are fencing a portion of the land where the school is to be situated; this
will cost us 60,000 rupees or US$ 1100.
January 24, a local engineer came and viewed the land. We described the school
we have in mind to her and she will work according Vaastu Shastra (Indian Feng
Shui) principles and the rules and regulations of the Tamil Nadu education
department. We are expecting the first drawings by next week Friday, January 30.
We are very excited how it will look and will keep you posted! The costs for the
engineer her work are around 10000 rupees.
Meanwhile we are preparing the ground for the girls’ playground and looking into
purchasing the playground equipment. A swing, a Marie –goes- round, a glide and
zig-zag. Most probably, we have to order it from the North of India to get the
safety standards we are looking for. We are awaiting their reply.
Our
26 months old daughter is busy helping with the earthworks, to help set up the
playground.
